ABOUT THE BOARD

Introducing the all-new Stoke X – the ultimate fusion of portability and power and an absolute game changer for the Evolve short board lineup. This isn’t just an upgrade; it’s a complete reimagining of our compact boards, designed to elevate your ride to a whole new level.

Being the smallest, most portable skateboard in the Evolve Skateboards line-up, the Stoke X is the ultimate shortboard for carving, commuting, and urban exploration. It’s the pocket rocket for a new era, made for those ready to push the limits of personal transport.

The Stoke X now features an all new 12s2p, 50.4 volt battery using the Samsung 50S 21700 cells. This is a huge performance upgrade from the original 36 volt battery used on the Stoke Series. This large increase in voltage not only boosts top speed but also helps maintain a consistent speed throughout the battery range, and the range has TRIPLED!  We’ve gone from 144 watt-hours in the existing Stoke series to a massive 432 watt-hours, which equates to a range of up to 45km on a single charge!

The Stoke X now comes with the same 6368 dual motors from the Hadean and GTR 2 Series, delivering a massive 3000W each. That’s double the power compared to the Series 2.  More torque, higher speeds, and better heat management allow you to push the board further without compromise. It’s like having the muscle of our full-sized AT boards packed into a shortboard.

The motor controller is the E-FOC 2.0 - the same as the Diablo Series. From smooth delivery of high current levels to the customisability of power, acceleration and braking curves, to safety and diagnostic features like heat & overcurrent protection. It features onboard ride tracking, diagnostic information, and of course the ability to customise the LED lighting built into the battery pack with hundreds of colours and modes.

The Stoke X now accommodates larger street wheels, and we’ve made the iconic Evolve 97mm urethane wheels standard for the Stoke X board, providing maximum roll speed for cruising, carving and going FAST!

We also love the Stoke X for its traditional skate experience as the deck has the kick tail and a new pinstripe inlay deck and is more street-focused. The pinstripe features on this new deck design have certainly been inspired by the first Evolve boards ever made, which were the Pintail and Snubnose series. Constructed with an additional fibreglass layer, the deck now offers the stiffness needed to handle the increased power output, capturing the surf-inspired vibe of the Stoke, but with a lighter, more modern aesthetic. It’s all about that sleek, classic look while giving you the performance edge.  With laser-etched logos, a foam kickball pad, and a solid sheet of clear grip tape as opposed to the spray-on grip previously used on the original Stoke boards - you’ll have more control than ever before.

NOTE -  The Stoke was originally introduced as our flight-friendly board.  However with so many riders requesting for more range, the battery in the StokeX can no longer be flown as it exceeds the maximum watt hours acceptable by airline carriers.

STOKE FAQs

1. How far can it go?
Up to 45 km on street. Real-world average varies slightly depending on rider weight, terrain, and how hard you push it.
2. How fast is it?
42 km/h top speed. Plenty for urban riding and commuting.
3. Is it smaller than other Evolve boards?
Yes, that's the point. At 85 cm it's the most compact board Evolve makes. Easier to carry on public transport or store at the office. Still a full-featured eboard, just more portable.
4. Can I ride it on rough terrain?
It only comes in a street setup. If you need all-terrain capability, you'd be looking at the GTR, Fusion, or Diablo range.
5. Is the battery big enough?
432Wh. It's the smallest battery in the range, which is why the board is lighter (10.5 kg) and more portable. If range is your priority, step up to the Diablo or Fusion.
6. What's the max rider weight?
100 kg. If you're close to or over that, the Diablo, Fusion, or Renegade are better fits at 120 kg rated.
7. Is it good for beginners?
Solid choice for new riders. It's manageable in size, has ECO mode, and the compact deck makes it less intimidating. That said, 42 km/h is still fast, so start slow.
8. Can I take it on a plane?
No. The 432Wh battery exceeds the 160Wh airline limit and there's no travel battery option for the Stoke X. Not a travel-friendly board in that sense.
9. How long does it charge?
3.5 to 4 hours. Good for overnight charging or a quick top-up during the day.
10. What's the difference between the original Stoke and the Stoke X?
The Stoke X is a full redesign, not just an update. Key differences: Motors: Stoke X runs dual 6368 motors (3000W each, 6000W total). Noticeably more power than the original Stoke. Controller: EFOC 2.0, same modern controller as the Diablo and Fusion range. Smoother power delivery, better braking. Battery: 432Wh, 12S2P with Samsung 50S cells. More energy-dense and efficient than the original. Remote: Phaze remote with CNC aluminium body and LCD screen. The original Stoke 1 used the R2 Bluetooth remote, and the Stoke 2 used the Phaze remote. Deck: Updated bamboo layup with EVA tail pad and clear grip. Lights: Front and rear LEDs, app-customisable. The original Stoke didn't have integrated lighting. In short: same compact format, significantly better hardware underneath.
11. Can I upgrade my original Stoke to a Stoke X?
Not really. The Stoke X uses a different motor controller, motor mounts, battery architecture, and remote ecosystem. The core components aren't cross-compatible with the original Stoke platform. It's a new board, not an upgrade kit. If you want the Stoke X experience, you'd be looking at a new board. The good news is the Stoke X is priced at $1,999 AUD, so it's the most accessible entry point in the current Evolve range.

Tonnes of fun

Great fun to go for a ride around the endless cycle paths in the Sydney Olympic park area and around along the northern side of the parramatta river as well. Super fun to carve and great to get to the gym, local shops etc. Range is amazing, I've never had to worry about it at all.

My only comment would be the remote.- Although the CNC aluminium top part makes it look and feel premium, it 's not very good at cushioning it were it to hit the ground, so the screen broke when I had a stack. It wasn't cracked but it no longer functioned. The remote still functioned to control the board just without the screen. Evolve were quick to replace it when I reached out however, so 5 stars for customer support. I'll have to try to be more careful with the new one I guess. Another comment on the remote which I think could be fixed with a firmware update, is that I wish there was the option for the dead-mans switch to be always required. There is only the options to have it not required, or required only to start. I like having it for safety but it seems inconsistent when it is actually required, for example when rolling slowly before starting off sometimes it is needed and sometimes not. Maybe just need to get used to it but the option would be nice . That should be the function of an actual dead-mans switch after all, this is more of a start-safety switch.

These are minor gripes I thought I would leave as feedback, however my overall experience and everything to do with the board itself has been great, tonnes of fun and definitely would recommend!

Better than a Ford Ranger

So, for the better part of a decade I've been watching and dreaming of owning an e-skateboard. However, living in far North Queensland meant that due to monsoonal weather for half the year I couldn't justify buying one. So I bought a Ford Ranger (Wildtrak).

Flash forward to the start of this year, the stars aligned and I moved to Brisbane, a city with beautiful weather and endless, smooth, rideable paths. I spent 9 months researching boards and companies and in September I finally pulled the trigger and purchased the Evolve Stoke X. I ordered it online and within 24 hours I had that bad-boy under my feet! I love it. It's something I should have done 10 years ago! Everything about it is perfect! The board length, grip and flex. The Evolve Super grip Street wheels, WOW, talk about a smooooooth ride. The absolute POWER from the dual motors combined with the ridiculously expansive battery life! This is the best thing I've ever purchased, EVER!

But here's my problem. I haven't used my very expensive (and currently under finance) Ford Ranger since I got my Stoke X! Not once. In fact, I am so in love with this board that I have decided to sell the Ranger!

So yeah, long story short, this is an awesome board, better than a Ford Ranger, and we'll worth purchasing! Do it, do it now.

On a serious note, if anyone's after a Ford Ranger please contact me because I no longer have need for it and its just burning a huge hole in my pocket and stopping me from buying Evolve merch and a second board... This isn't a joke. Please help me.

Service Manager Brandon blew it

After losing my home and everything in it from the Los Angeles fires, I reached out to Evolve. Not for a handout, but because I’ve been a loyal rider for years. My board wasn’t just gear, it was part of my daily life. What I got in return was a generic 10% discount and a response focused more on tariffs and inventory than any real human empathy.

That reply made it clear: my loss was met with a sales pitch, not support. No one read the room. No one showed up in the way I hoped a brand I’ve championed would.

I still bought the board—but not because of Evolve’s response. I bought it in spite of it.

Evolve makes solid products, but this experience exposed a lack of heart behind the brand. If you care about the people who ride your boards, start acting like it. I even emailed the CEO with no response AT ALL...

My dirtbikes and guitars hate me because I spend so much time on this weapon of a board.

Would buy again 10 times over.

P.S Evolve please get some hats and/or shirts made

So easy to ride!

I bought an Evoke X board to commute to work every.
I have a 7 kms ride from the train station to work nearly every exclusively and bike track. What a great feeling as if I was on my snowboard 🏂

Great power, at your fingertips, the control is so easy tu use.

In addition it gives me the needed range if the train does not come 35 to 40 kms easily.

Just what I was looking for!

I have been riding this daily for about a month now, I previously had the carbon gtx. The Stoke X has the speed, distance, and style I have been wanting! Definitely recommend this beast, make sure to wear a helmet haha

I would say the only con to this board is not having all terrain wheels for offroading, but that's it, everything else is great!!!!

What a great Board

The stoke X takes the normal stoke upgrades the looks and turns the power to an 11 and the breaking the board is sooooo much smoother than before absolutely no complaints. The lights at night also add another level of fun would 100% recommend

P.S. Great board for getting around campus it takes me about a week and a half to fully drain the battery

Best investment ever.

Ok, so I’ve owned the stoke for about 3 or 4 years now. And it's been interesting.
The very first day, I set it on GTS and max speed. Within 20 minutes I broke my arm and had to drive myself to the hospital. After that, I used it cautiously for the next 6 months or so but was convinced it was just a death trap and not worth the risk.
Keep in mind I’ve ridden dirt bikes for about 40 years now and have an x-ray folder as big as my arm.
Anyway, after about a year of a broken remote and thinking I should just sell it and move on, I chose to give it another chance.
I figured out the key is just set it on 20kph, fast enough to run, and it will get you from A to B without nearly dying.
So now, after taming down the speed a little, I can use it every other day in Brisbane city. Going to uni at garden point I shred tf out of all the streets and sidewalks. I can go anywhere anytime and don't need to worry about parking. Sometimes it'll be 1am and I’ll just go shredding through the city with earphones pumping, blasting past the crackheads, and it's always a blast.
I weigh about 120kg, and with a backpack full of shopping (another 10 to 15kg) I can still climb the steepest of hills. The motors on this thing are insane.
To sum up. I’ve been punishing the stoke for years now. Not just on hot mix, but heavy corrugation too. I’ve had one wheel come off the rim on the back, but I swapped it to the front and it’s still running fine after 3 months.
This board is an absolute beast, and the designers of the stoke should be proud.

Hey Shaun,

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Stoke! We're glad to hear you stuck with it. It sounds like you've found the perfect balance and really made the most of it in Brisbane. Your story and tips are gold—riding at 20kph is a great idea, especially for those looking to get used to the board.

The details about your weight and climbing those hills with extra cargo is impressive. Our team puts a lot into making sure our boards can handle those real-world challenges.

Glad you’re enjoying your rides, even in the middle of the night! Stay safe out there and keep shredding.

Cheers!

Life is Good

I’m enjoying my Saturdays carving on the boardwalk in Huntington Beach. Spotted some other Evolve riders out there. I’m having fun, but my legs. 💀

We're glad to hear that life is good and you're enjoying carving on your Stoke board along the Huntington Beach boardwalk! It's always exciting to spot fellow Evolve riders. Keep enjoying those epic Saturdays! 🛹🌴🌊

Exactly what I expected

This board is so much fun! Has just enough of everything for this style of board (torque, speed, stop ability, and carving). Customer service is as good as it gets. After about 30 miles I noticed I was having cell issues. Contacted Evolve and they took care of everything super fast and easy. 🤙

Thanks for the awesome review, Paul! We're stoked to hear that you're having a blast with the board. Happy to know the team was able to help you out and have you riding in little to no time. 🛹🙌

Great side vehicle

I over all love it. One of the clips that holds the wiring doesn’t seem to hold for very long. I’m using this for fun rides as well as when I park my car further away I can use to ride to and from. Range is pretty decent.

Thanks, Travis! The Stoke is a fantastic last-mile vehicle for fun rides and convenient commuting. We appreciate your feedback on the wiring clip. Enjoy the ride!

What a ride!

The Stoke Series 2 is amazing. Smooth accel and braking and a great carver! Stable at speed too. Eats up hills. Definitely likes the smoother roads/paths but can navigate less than ideal surfaces too. My board had some disconnect and battery issues after the first few weeks but Evolve was quick to respond, troubleshoot, and eventually fix the issue. Other than the initial battery management issue, I'm loving carving around my neighborhood and exploring.

Hi Brad,

Thanks for leaving your awesome review! This is why we call the Stoke the pocket rocket!

Awesome to hear about the wonderful service our team provided. We aim to be the best we can be :)

Enjoy exploring and keep shredding!

Regards,
Evolve HQ
